Increased COVID-19 Testing for CD6 Begins Today
As we continue to work together to stop the spread of the virus and get off the state’s COVID-19 watchlist, we all need to be mindful of the basic precautions that save lives: wear your mask, wash your hands and practice social distancing. We also need to do a lot better in providing more access to testing and resources to low-income communities, with Latinos dying at twice the rate of our White Angelenos. Everyone deserves access and service. As such, we have both temporary (today and tomorrow) walk-up testing happening in Van Nuys and longer-term testing beginning tomorrow in Panorama City. See details below.
For our LA City businesses, please continue to follow required protocols in the Safer LA: Toolkit for Businesses in order to keep employers, employees, and customers healthy and safe.
Call your congressmember and the White House and let them know we must protect our renters from evictions and homeowners from losing their homes in the next round of federal relief. We need to adopt the CARES Act and other housing/income minded relief efforts. The Senate’s proposal to drastically cut back unemployment benefits will put American lives and housing at risk. Job No. 1 must be to defeat this virus and we cannot expect Americans to stay home if we do not provide them the salary to do so. They must do better. Let them know.
