Dana Brown Confirmed to Lead Animal Services

This week, the City Council approved Mayor Garcetti's appointment of Dana Brown to lead the Los Angeles Animal Services Department (LAAS). Brown served as Interim General Manager since early May, following Brenda Barnette's retirement. A public servant for more than 30 years, Dana most recently worked as the City's Chief Employee Relations Officer in the Office of the City Administrative Officer (CAO). Prior to her time with the CAO, Brown was Assistant General Manager of LAAS under Barnette. She has the expertise and deep understanding of the department's operations to lead it forward and we are excited to have her back at Animal Services.
