Consider running for a seat on the Arleta Neighborhood Council. Neighborhood Councils are a hyperlocal form of government that ensures the City of Los Angeles is responsive to YOUR neighborhood's needs, challenges, and aspirations.
As a Neighborhood Council Board Member, you can:
- Advocate for issues that matter most to you and your neighbors.
- Advise your City Councilmember and other City leaders.
- Contribute to positive change in your community.
You can directly influence issues like:
- Homelessness
- Affordable housing
- Public transportation
- Public safety
- Local development
- Small business development
- City services
Who Can Run?
Participation is open to individuals who:
- Live, work, rent or own property, worship, attend school, own a business within the Neighborhood Council’s boundaries, or are a vested community stakeholder.
- Are at least 18 years old to run for general seats.
- Are between 14-17 years old for Youth Seats.
- Are system-impacted individuals, non-U.S. citizens, or unhoused neighbors.

- Renters Representative
- Community-Based Organizations Representative
- Animal Welfare Representative
- Two (2) At-Large Representatives
- Senior Representative

- Application Deadline: Monday, February 24 by 11:59 p.m.
- Election Day: Tuesday, May 13, 2025
